About Attorney Saponaro
Tannaz Saponaro is a highly recognized family law attorney specializing
in sophisticated divorce matters with complex financial family estates,
child custody, alongside ancillary probate and business disputes. She
was born in Tehran, Iran before moving to Los Angeles, California with
her family at a young age. She attended California State University in
Northridge and of L’Universite Pour Les Etudiants Etranges in Aix
En Provence, France before obtaining her J.D. from Suffolk University
Law School. She is fluent in four languages including English, Farsi,
French and Spanish.
After her tenure at the Boston law firm of Lee, Levine and Bowser LLP,
and nearly 11 years at Verrill Dana LLP where she was an equity partner
and instrumental to the creation and growth of their domestic relations
department in Boston, Tannaz brings her broad experience and litigation
expertise to each case at Saponaro Barach Bingham LLP. Driven by the highest
commitment to serve each client and family’s particular needs, Tannaz
has earned a reputation for her strong advocacy, preparation and courtroom
acumen throughout the Massachusetts courts.
Before entering the private practice of law, Tannaz honed her courtroom
and trial skills as an Assistant District Attorney for Plymouth County,
where she ran the Domestic Violence Unit at the district court level and
continues to serve as Special Prosecutor for Plymouth County, aiding the
Commonwealth when conflicts of interest arise.
Tannaz has been named Massachusetts Top Women in Law by
Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly's 2018 and is listed in
The Best Lawyers in America© under Family Law. She is consistently peered reviewed as a "Massachusetts
Rising Star" in Family Law by
Massachusetts Super Lawyers®.
In addition to participating in many continuing education programs, including
national speaking engagements dealing with international family law issues,
Tannaz has co-authored “Chapter 19: Appellate Procedure,"
Massachusetts Divorce Law Practice Manual (2003, 2006 and 2018 Supplement), published by the Massachusetts Continuing
Education-New England Law Institute. Tannaz is a faculty member at the
Massachusetts Bar Association, the MCLE, and the Association of Family
and Conciliation Courts of America.
Tannaz is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and
the United States District Court for Massachusetts.
She resides in Sherborn, Ma with her husband and two daughters.
